A series exploring Myofascial Release using a ball.

A deeper dive into the fascia and how it influences our posture and movement. Dehydrated or tight areas of fascia can be a sign of stuck emotion or trauma. It can be a sign of poor habits while walking or sitting daily, or a result of injury or compensation. Stress creates further tension leading to bound up and congested tissues.

Explore where your body is holding tension and learn easy techniques to release that tension.

We will focus on the feet, hip flexors, glutes and low back, and shoulders. And dive into the emotional pain chart developed by Louise Hay. 

 
Using light pressure with the ball in yoga postures, you'll discover areas that are stiff and stuck and invite release, creating space in the body, while relieving pain and discomfort.
 
Learning how to safely release this tension in your body on your own can give your body the relief and freedom it needs to feel well.

About Alissa:

Alissa Marie Newberg is a 200hr RYT yoga teacher with additional Yoga Alliance certification in Prenatal Yoga through Blooma International.
 
She has trained as a DONA certified doula with Patti Brennan of The Center for the Childbearing Year and recently studied with Tammy Ryan of Spinning Babies learning pregnancy and birth positioning techniques.
 
She is also certified to specialize in teaching yoga for the pelvic floor to both participants and instructors.
