The Winter Solstice is when darkness peaks & daylight is at its shortest, signifying the start of winter before the cool skies gently invite in a subtle shift toward brighter days ahead. This is a symbol of the sun standing still at its lowest point, reminding us to see embrace the stillness, recharge, and spend time in reflection. The 2024 Solstice occurs on Saturday, December 21.

Begin your day with intention. As the sun gently rises (ETA 7:57a), sit in quiet meditation with a guided breath practice and visualization inspired by the light within. You may choose to sit with a soft gaze out toward the lake, with eyes closed, lay in a comfortable posture, ground in child's pose, or quietly sip tea as you practice stillness in quiet meditation.
From here we will enter into a short sun salutation practice. This practice is meant to honor and express gratitude for the sun’s cycle by warming up the body and concentrating on slow, intentional, and repetitive movement led by your breath.
We focus on grounding the body and embracing the Winter Solstice, surrendering into a time of slowing down and regeneration.
